First 45 minutes in class are to be spent silently reading "To Kill a Mockingbird."
Then we shall move to the computers in the H Pod and you can start researching personal stories from "The Great Depression" here.
After your research on the computer, please go ahead and write a fictitious letter to a friend, as if you were actually living through the Great Depression: Describe your home and neighborhood in detail. Include lots of specific and interesting information so that the reader of your letter can visualize your environment. Make sure and reference the difficult economic times you and your family and undergoing, similar to those of the characters in the book.
You will have some time on Friday in class to research and work on this letter, so keep that in mind!
